What is corten steelCorten is steel with added alloys that controls the rate steel reacts with oxygen.

How long will it last?Corten has many large scale uses such as in ship building, bridges and large buildings. We expect your piece to grace your place for many years.

How do I look after my sculpture?It will arrive as a metallic colour, once in place give a light wash with soapy water to get rid of fingerprints and any other grease or dirt. It will gradually weather over several months. If you would like to speed this up you can fill a spray bottle with water or weak solution of salt water/sea water and spray daily for a few weeks.

Is there leaching?Yes, initially while the patina is forming. It is best to weather on grass or somewhere the leaching will not stain.

What will my final colour be?Each piece will have varying tones of colour due to its industrial nature but overall leans to a deep russet.

What is the delivery time?We hope to have your piece to you within 15 working days.

How do I install my peice?Zinc and galvanised steel. These react with the corteen, causing them to erode prematurly. We recomend a stainless or coated screws is mounting/installing with screws. Visit our care and installation page.
